Casting has been announced for the York Theatre Company’s “Musicals in Mufti” production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty’s 1988 Off-Broadway musical Lucky Stiff.

The cast includes Mary Testa, Paul Kandel, and Stuart Zagnit, all of whom were in the original Playwrights Horizons production of the show. Also featured are Malcolm Gets, Janet Metz, Rita LaPorta, Emily Skinner, and Erick Devine. The production will be directed by Graciela Daniele, and David Loud will serve as musical director.

Lucky Stiff is based on the Michael Butterworth novel The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo, and received the 1988 Richard Rodgers Production Award and the 1990 Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical. The “Musicals in Mufti” production will be seen October 24-26 at the York Theatre at St. Peter’s (619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street). Tickets are $35 and may be purchased by calling 212-868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com; $20 tickets, payable by cash only, are available on the day of the performance, 30 minutes prior to curtain.

The first production in this year’s Mufti series, the Jerome Kern-P.G. Wodehouse musical Oh, Boy!, runs this weekend. The series will conclude with Ben Tarver and John Clifton’s Man with a Load of Mischief, which will be performed October 31-November 2.
