The new musical An American in Paris, starring professional ballet dancers Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope, opens at Broadway's Palace Theatre this Sunday at 5pm. The much-anticipated production, a stage adaptation of the 1951 Oscar-winning film, follows the romance between World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan (Fairchild) and Lise Dassin (Cope), a young French woman.

The glitz of Broadway combined with the grace of dance are sure to make this an opening night to remember, so follow the action via TheaterMania's Instagram. Lead actress Leanne Cope will take over our account beginning at 5pm, sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos. Followers will be able to go along with Cope and the rest of the cast as they hang out backstage, huddle in the wings, and maybe even attend the gypsy robe ceremony.

An American in Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. The musical features a book by Craig Lucas and a score by George and Ira Gershwin that includes songs such as "I Got Rhythm," "Liza," "'S Wonderful," "But Not for Me," "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise," and more.

In addition to Cope and Fairchild, the cast includes Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Brandon Uranowitz as Adam Hochberg, and Max von Essen as Henri Baurel — so keep those eyes peeled for all your Broadway favorites.
