Alexis Fishman Named NYMF Next Broadway Sensation

Australian singer Alexis Fishman has been named the winner of the 7th Annual NYMF Next Broadway Sensation Competition on Friday, August 12. Karen Mason hosted the events.
She was one of eight finalists who were chosen from a mix of audience and online votes, as well as a panel of judges that included Celia Keenan-Bolger, Tony Sheldon, Ryan Scott Oliver, Michael Cassara, and Michael Kerker.
The seven other finalists were Daniel Belnavis, Max Chernin, Joel Dommel, Adam Kaplan, Charlotte Munson, Shannon O’Boyle, and Josephine Spada.
Fishman is a graduate of the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and has been seen in productions of Dusty – The Original Pop Diva, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and The Hatpin, among others.
Additionally, NYMF has announced the Grand Jury for the 2013 Next Link Project, which guarantees production slits in the 2013 festival. They include Joshua Bergasse, Jeff Bowen, Michael Cerveris, Marsha Norman, Joey Parnes, Tonya Pinkins, Scott Schwartz, Simon, and Sheldon,
