Forbidden Broadway Comes Out Swinging Announces Plans to Close

Gerard Alessandrini’s satirical show includes takes on ”Hedwig”, Idina Menzel, ”Cabaret”, and more.

Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway Comes Out Swinging has announced that it will end its run on July 20 at the Davenport Theatre. The show is directed by Phillip George and Alessandrini, with musical direction by David Caldwell.

This new edition of Forbidden Broadway includes jabs directed at Hedwig, Idina Menzel, Sylvester Stallone, Cabaret, The Bridges of Madison County, Aladdin, Motown, The Sound of Music Live!, and more. The current cast includes Carter Calvert, Scott Richard Foster, Mia Gentile, and Marcus Stevens, with Caldwell on piano.

The production features set by Megan K. Halpern, lighting by Mark T. Simpson, costumes by Dustin Cross and Philip Heckman, sound by Matt Kraus, and wigs by Bobbie Cliffton Zlotnick.

Forbidden Broadway is currently playing a limited run at London's Menier Chocolate Factory through August 20 and will play a limited engagement at Feinstein's in San Francisco from July 10-27.
