Alec Mapa’s Baby Daddy to Play Laurie Beechman Theatre in July

Alec Mapa is set to present the official New York premiere of his solo comedy show Baby Daddy, July 19-29 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Baby Daddy recounts Mapa’s adventures on the way to fatherhood and asks whether one man can go from stand-up gigs and gay cruises to being a responsible P.T.A. member.

Mapa appeared on Broadway in M. Butterfly. Additional New York theater credits include Dogeaters and A Language of Their Own. His solo show, I Remember Mapa won the LA Weekly Award for Best Solo Performance and has toured nationally.

Also known for his television work, Mapa has had recurring roles on ABC’s Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, as well as serving as host for LOGO’s groundbreaking transgender dating show TransAmerican Love Story.
