Actor Rex Robbins is Dead at 68

Veteran Broadway actor Rex Robbins has died at age 68 of an aneurysm.

Robbins made his Broadway debut in the 1963 Broadway production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and later appeared in such shows as The Changing Room, The Magic Show, the 1974 revival of Gypsy (as Herbie opposite Angela Lansbury), Comedians, and, most recently, James Joyce’s The Dead. He also appeared Off-Broadway in Urban Blight, Henry IV, Part I, Glory in the Flower, and The Purification.

Among his many movie and TV appearances, Robbins played Roger Sherman of Connecticut in the 1972 film version of the hit Broadway musical 1776. His most recent film role was in The Royal Tannenbaums (2001).

Robbins is survived by his wife and three children.
