Act One Playwright and Director James Lapine Set for Lincoln Center Talk

Tony winner James Lapine will participate in a Lincoln Center Theater Platform Series discussion on April 8.

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series will continue its 16th season on April 8 with a discussion featuring James Lapine, the playwright and director of Broadway's Act One. Platform Series events take place in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Free seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Act One, a stage adaptation of playwright/director Moss Hart's 1959 memoir, stars 2013 Tony nominees Tony Shalhoub (Golden Boy) and Santino Fontana (Cinderella). The play began previews March 20 at Broadway's Vivian Beaumont Theater and officially opens April 17.

The cast also features Matthew Saldivar, Andrea Martin, Charlotte Maier, Mimi Lieber, Chuck Cooper, Deborah Offner, Steven Kaplan, Laurel Casillo, Bill Army, Bob Stillman, Will LeBow, Amy Warren, and Will Brill.

Lapine has also written the book for the musical A New Brain. A Tony Award winner, he directed the HBO documentary Six by Sondheim and the Broadway musicals Sunday in the Park With George, Into the Woods, Passion, and many more.
