92nd Street Y to Present A Tribute to Thornton Wilder

The 92nd Street Y will present A Tribute to Thornton Wilder on Monday, January 26 at 8pm. This program in honor of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and acclaimed playwright will include readings from John Guare, Penelope Niven, Paula Vogel, Kurt Vonnegut, Sam Waterston, and Tappan Wilder (Thornton Wilder’s nephew).

Wilder’s works for the stage include The Trumpet Shall Sound (1926), Our Town (1938), The Merchant of Yonkers (1938), The Skin of Our Teeth (1942), The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden and The Respectful Prostitute (1948), and The Matchmaker (1955). He also wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Bridge of San Luis Rey and the screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1943 film Shadow of a Doubt.
