42nd Street Sets Off On Chinese Tour

A new United States-based production of the Tony Award-winning musical 42nd Street will open on September 5 in Shanghai, China, and will later tour to other Chinese cities, including Beijing and Nanjing.
The production is directed by Mark Bramble, a co-author of the show’s book and the director of its 2001 Broadway revival, with choreography by Rick Conant. It is being presented by Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, which plans to produce other American musicals in China and throughout Asia.
The cast is led by Kristen Martin as Peggy Sawyer, Paul Gregory Nelson as Julian Marsh, Charles MacEachern as Billy Lawlor, Natalie Buster as Dorothy Brock, Karen McDonald as Maggie Jones, Ira Denmark as Bert Barry, Lew Lloyd as Arthur Dillon, and Rockford Sansom as Pat Denning.
The creative team includes James Fouchard (sets), Roger Kirk (costumes), Rick Belzer (lighting), and Duncan Robert Edwards (sound).
