Initial casting has been announced for The Culture Project‘s 10th anniversary production of The Exonerated, to be presented September 15-November 4, with an opening on September 19. Bob Balaban will direct.

Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, and presented in special association with The Innocence Project, the show is a dramatization of the real-life stories of six individuals who were sentenced to death and later freed amidst overwhelming evidence of their innocence.

The rotating cast will feature Broadway veterans Stockard Channing, Brian Dennehy, and Brooke Shields, as well as Grammy nominee John Forté. Exoneree Sunny Jacobs, whose story is shared within the play, joins the cast for one-week, September 25-30. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
