Manhattan Theatre Club announced today that Remy Auberjonois will replace Tony Award nominee Jeremy Shamos in the role of Jeff in Broadway’s The Assembled Parties, now running at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Shamos will play his last performance on Sunday, July 7, with Auberjonois stepping in on Tuesday, July 9.

Remy Auberjonois has performed in numerous Broadway productions including Frost/Nixon in 2007, The Country Girl in 2008, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas in 2009 and, most recently, the Tony Award-winning revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman in 2012.

Auberjonois will join Jessica Hecht and now two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light in leading the company of the new work, which is set on Christmas Eves in 1980 and 2000. As an Upper West Side Jewish family gathers for dinner, a house guest insinuates himself into the dynamic and becomes a bigger part of their lives than anyone expected. The cast also includes Mark Blum, Jonathan Walker, Jake Silbermann, Lauren Blumenfeld, and Alex Dreier.

After several extensions, the production is scheduled to run through July 28.
