Jersey Boys Surpasses 42nd Street to Become Broadway's 13th-Longest-Running Show

The musical celebrates the milestone tonight, April 9.

The popular Tony- and Grammy-winning hit musical at the August Wilson Theatre surpasses the original Broadway production of 42nd Street tonight to becomes the 13th-longest-running show in history. As of this evening, Jersey Boys will have played 3,487 performances.

Jersey Boys, written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, first opened on Broadway on November 6, 2005. The musical follows the rise of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, the popular 1960s pop/rock quartet made famous by hit songs such as "Sherry," "Walk Like a Man," and "Big Girls Don't Cry." Des McAnuff directs.

The current cast of Jersey Boys features Matt Bogart (Nick Massi), Joseph Leo Bwarie (Frankie Valli), Drew Gehling (Bob Gaudio), Richard H. Blake (Tommy DeVito), Peter Gregus, Mark Lotito, Miles Aubrey, Erik Bates, Candi Boyd, Jared Bradshaw, Cara Cooper, Nick Cosgrove, Ken Dow, John Edwards, Russell Fischer, Katie O'Toole, Joe Payne, Mauricio Perez, Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt, and Katie Webber.
