Works by Peter Cincotti, Mark Nutter and More Added to NYMF Lineup

An additional ten shows have been added to the slate of musicals that will be presented as part of the ninth New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), running July 9-29.

Among the newly announced NYMF offerings is Re-Animator The Musical, which has a book by Dennis Paoli, Stuart Gordon, and William Norris and music and lyrics by Mark Nutter. As previously reported, the show, based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft, recently won the the L.A. Weekly Musical of the Year Theatre Award, and will play a return engagement at the Hayworth Theatre before coming to the festival.

Other shows that have been added to the 2012 NYMF slate are Baby Case, with book, music and lyrics by Michael Ogborn; Himself and Nora, with book music and lyrics by Jonathan Brielle; How Deep Is the Ocean?, which has a book by Pia Cincotti, and music and lyrics by Peter Cincotti; and Le Cabaret Grimm, with music and lyrics by Jason Slavick and music by Cassandra Marsh.

In addition NYMF will present Requiem for a Lost Girl by Onalea Gilbertson (book and lyrics) and Marcel Bergmann (music), Stand Tall by Lee Wyatt-Buchan (book and lyrics) and Aldie and Sandy Chalmers (music), The Groove Factory by Chad Kessler (book) and David James Boyd (book, music and lyrics), Trouble by Michael Alvarez (book) and Ella Grace (music and lyrics), and Zapata! by Ana Edwards (book) and Peter Edwards (book, music and lyrics).
