After 10 months, Gerard Alessandrini will bring the long-running musical revue Forbidden Broadway back to New York City, for a run beginning February 22 at the Davenport Theatre.

Forbidden Broadway: Alive and STILL Kicking will take on the current crop of musicals on the Great White Way, from Pippin and Matilda The Musical to Kinky Boots and Motown The Musical, with stops at long-running favorites like Once, Newsies, and The Book of Mormon. This season's newest productions, including Rocky, The Bridges of Madison County, and Aladdin, are expected to find their way into the show, as well. The complete new edition will be officially unveiled around the time of the 2014 Tony Awards.

As always, Alessandrini serves as creator, writer, and codirector of the production (he shares those duties with Phillip George). David Caldwell serves as musical director, with Mark T. Simpson as lighting designer.

Over the course of its three-decade history, Forbidden Broadway has been the recipient of a special Tony Award, as well as Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Obie Awards. Last season's version of the show received a Drama Desk nomination for Best Musical Revue.
