Steven Brinberg, Lainie Kazan, Loni Ackerman, Harvey Evans, Grant Norman, et al. Set for ReVision’s Funny Girl

Additional cast and creative team have been announced for the ReVision Theatre’s benefit performance of Funny Girl, at the Paramount Theatre on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on Saturday, July 11, at 8 pm. Connor Gallagher will direct and choreograph the show, with musical direction by John Fischer.

Featuring music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Bob Merrill, Funny Girl follows the career of Fanny Brice, one of the funniest women of early American musical theatre. Songs include “I’m the Greatest Star”, “People”, “You are Woman, I am Man”, and “Don’t Rain on my Parade.”

As previously announced, Steven Brinberg (as Barbra Streisand) will play Fanny Brice. The cast will also feature Grant Norman) as Nicky Arnstein, Loni Ackerman as Mrs. Brice, Nicola Blackman as Mrs. Strakosh, Ivy Austin as Mrs. Meeker, Laura Jordan as Mrs. O’Malley, Claybourne Elder as Eddie Ryan, Harvey Evans as Florenz Ziegfeld, Gene Castle as Mr. Keeney, and Bill Coyne as the Ziegfeld Tenor.

Lainie Kazan, who took over the role of Fanny Brice on Broadway, will open the show with a few of her stories based on her experience with the original Broadway production and will sing “The Music That Makes Me Dance.”

The creative team includes Dawn von Suskil (sets), Brian Tovar (lighting), and David Withrow (costumes).
