McCarter Theatre Center has announced that it will continue the 2015-16 season with the world premiere of Ken Ludwig’s A Comedy of Tenors. The premiere, a coproduction with Cleveland Play House, will play from October 13-November 1 on the Matthews Stage. Stephen Wadsworth will direct.

A Comedy of Tenors features some characters from the Tony Award-winning comedy Lend Me a Tenor. It is set mid the glitz and glamour of 1930s Paris, where producer — and former mayor of Cleveland — Henry Saunders is attempting to stage the concert of the century with three of the world’s greatest opera sensations.

The cast will feature Ron Orbach, Rob McClure, Antoinette Lavecchia, Bradley Dean, Kristen Martin, Bobby Conte Thornton, and Lisa Brescia.

The design team includes Charlie Corcoran (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), David Lander (lighting design), and Joshua Horvath (sound design).

In addition, the theater has announced a one-night "Live at the Library" event featuring Ken Ludwig set to take place October 9 at the Princeton Public Library. Ludwig will discuss the creation of the sequel to his hit Lend Me a Tenor, as well as his lifelong love of opera. He will also provide insider information on the A Comedy of Tenors world premiere.
