Kristin Chenoweth, Liza Minnelli, Audra McDonald, et al. Set NJPAC’s 2011-2012 Season

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center has announced programming for 2011-2012, which will open, as previously announced, with the center’s Spotlight Gala, headlined Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth.

The NJPAC season will include will include cabaret appearances by Leslie Uggams in Uptown Downtown (October 22), Wesla Whitfield (February 11), and Chita Rivera (May 19), as well as concert appearances by artists such as Liza Minnelli (December 16), Renee Fleming (January 29), and Audra McDonald (April 20).


Theater offerings at the venue will include the touring productions of Hair (February 14-19), and West Side Story (May 1-6), as well as the South Asian Theater Festival (November 12-13), which will include a performance of Sacrifice, a play in English based on the Bengali play, Bishorjon, presented by Epic Actors’ Workshop.

Family-friendly offerings at the NJPAC will include Baobab (November 5-6), John Tartaglia’s Imaginocean (January 28), the Peking Acrobats (March 2), and the hip-hop musical P.Nokio (March 17-18).
