The Paper Mill Playhouse will celebrate 75 years of producing high-quality theater in New Jersey with its anniversary gala, to be held on May 10 at the Hilton Short Hills Hotel. Tony Award-nominated actor Newsies actor Jeremy Jordan will headline the event, which also features The Eddie Bruce Band. The reception and silent auction begins at 6:00pm, followed by dinner and dancing.

Jeremy Jordan originated the role of Jack Kelly in hit musical Newsies, which had its start at the Paper Mill Playhouse before transferring to Broadway. The actor has also appeared on Broadway as Tony in the recent revival of West Side Story and Clyde in Frank Wildhorn's Bonnie and Clyde. He can currently be seen as composer Jimmy Collins on NBC's Smash.

In addition to celebrating Paper Mill's 75th year, the event will also honor Investors Bank president and CEO Kevin Cummings with the Byrne/Kean Arts Advocate Award. Philanthropist Carolyn Ferolito will receive the Antoinette Scudder Patron of the Arts Award.

Paper Mill Playhouse is one of America's leading regional theaters. In addition to Newsies, it was the original home of the 2002 Broadway revival of I'm Not Rappaport and the 1984 revival of You Can't Take It With You. Originally built as an actual paper mill in 1795, the building burned to the ground and was rebuilt in the 1860s. The new venue was purchased by Antoinette Scudder in 1934 for the purpose of becoming a permanent repertory theater in Millburn, New Jersey.
