A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia has been added to the George Street Playhouse‘s 2009-2010 season, to run March 30 – April 25. David Saint will direct. The production replaces Ken Ludwig’s Fox on the Fairway, which the theater has postponed until the 2010-11 season because of scheduling conflicts among the artists involved.

Sylvia centers on the conflicts that arise when a man brings a stray dog home to live with him and his wife. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Among Gurney’s other works are Love Letters, The Dining Room, The Cocktail Hour, Ancestral Voices, Big Bill, and The Fourth Wall.
