Get a Good Look at Steve Martin's Underpants
The comedian warns audiences to never underestimate the power of lingerie.
Legendary comedian and film actor Steve Martin's off-kilter comedy The Underpants is now in performance at New Haven's Long Wharf Theatre, where it will run through November 10 before transferring to Hartford Stage from January 9-February 9.
Adapted from Carl Sternheim's 1910 German farce Die Hose, The Underpants follows pretty, young Louise (Jenny Leona), whose mundane life takes a turn for the exciting after her bloomers accidentally fall to her ankles during an outing to see the King on parade. Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein helms a cast that also features George Bartenieff (Klinglehoff), Didi Conn (Gertrude), Jeff McCarthy (Theo), Burke Moses (Versati), and Steve Routman (Cohen).
