Illusion Theater has announced the lineup of plays for its annual summer series Fresh Ink, which provides space for artists to develop creative new works. The series will run July 7-29.

This year's series will begin with What's the Word For, July 7-10, a new play by Jeffrey Hatcher about 80-year-old, crossword loving Mrs. Caleodis and the much younger Hayden, a former film instructor with a meticulous sense of timing, who must help each other cope with the painful reality of life off the silver screen. Kim Schultz's one-woman show inspired by true stories of Iraqi refugees No Place Called Home will play July 14-17.

Dating Your Mom, a workshop production adapted by John Gaspard from the writings of The New Yorker's Ian Frazier, will be performed July 21-24. A special evening reading of Toni Morrison's Jazz, adapted and directed by Marion McClinton, will close the series on July 29.
