Guthrie’s Ella, Starring Tina Fabrique, Extends Through September 20

The Guthrie has announced an extension for its production of Ella, which will now close September 20.

This bio-musical about Ella Fitzgerald was created by Rob Ruggiero and Dyke Garrison and features a book by Jeffrey Hatcher with musical supervision/arrangement by Danny Holgate. Ruggiero directs a cast that includes Tina Fabrique in the title role, along with George Caldwell (Music Director/Conductor/Piano), Ron Haynes (Trumpet/Louis Armstrong), Rodney Harper (Drums), Clifton Kellem (Bass), and Harold Dixon (Norman Granz), with Joilet Harris serving as the understudy for Fabrique.

The creative team includes Michael Schweikardt (set designer), Alejo Vietti (costume designer), John Lasiter (lighting designer), and Michael Miceli (sound designer).
