The Guthrie Theater will partner with The Acting Company for a national tour of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, which will play a three-week run at the Guthrie’s Dowling Studio, January 14-February 5. Rob Melrose will direct.

This contemporary staging of Shakespeare’s conspiratorial political tragedy is intended to capture the contentious energy of American politics in the recent presidential and mid-term elections.

Bjorn DuPaty will play the title role with Zachary Fine as Mark Antony, Sid Solomon as Cassius, and and William Sturdivant as Brutus. The cast will also include Ernest Bentley, Kaliswa Brewster, Caleb Carlson, Ray Chapman, Whitney Hudson, Joseph Midyett, Kevin Orton, Noah Putterman, and Kathleen Wise.

The creative team will include Cliff Caruthers (sound design), Michael Chybowski (lighting design), Candice Donnelly (costume design), Neil Patel (set design), Shawn Sagady (projection design), and Felix Ivanoff (fight director).
