Emmy Award nominee Peter Scolari will star as Harold Hill and Julia Burrows will play Marian Paroo in Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, to run July 20-August 20 at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Ray Roderick will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Jeffry Denman. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The musical centers on Harold Hill, a fast-talking traveling salesman who attempts to con the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a town band that he vows to organize, despite his utter lack of musical knowledge. While there, he falls hard for skeptical librarian Marian Paroo.

Scolari has starred on Broadway in the Sly Fox and Hairspray, in the City Center Encores! productions of Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 and Out of this World, and in such off-Broadway productions as White’s Lies. He is best known for his work on the TV series Newhart, for which he received three Emmy Award nominations, and Bosom Buddies.
