Warren Beatty, Ben Stiller, et al. to Receive BAFTA Awards

Oscar winner and Broadway veteran Warren Beatty will be the recipient of BAFTA’ LAs Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, which will be presented on November 30 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


Tony Award winner Alan Cumming will host the event, which will be broadcast on the TVGuide Network on December 4.

As previously reported, Broadway and film star Ben Stiller will receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy; the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year will be given to Helena Bonham Carter;John Lasseter will receive the Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment; and David Yates will be honored with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing.

Beatty appeared on Broadway in 1959 in A Loss of Roses, for which he won the Theater World Award. He is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors and directors; his many film credits include Splendor in the Glass, Bonnie and Clyde, Heaven Can Wait, Reds, and Dick Tracy.
