Edie Falco, Michael C. Hall, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, et al. Among Critics’ Choice TV Award Nominations

The nominations for the Broadcast Television Journalist Association’s inaugural Critics’ Choice TV Awards have been announced, according to a report in Variety. The winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on June 20 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which will be taped for subsequent broadcast.

Among the nominees are stage veterans Steve Buscemi, Michael C. Hall, and William H. Macy, who have been nominated in the Best Actor in a Drama Series for their work in Boardwalk Empire, Dexter and Shameless, respectively. The category is rounded out by Kyle Chandler, Jon Hamm and Timothy Olyphant.

The Best Actress in a Drama Series nominees include theater performers Mireille Enos, nominated for The Killing, Julianna Margulies, nominated for The Good Wife, Elisabeth Moss, nominated for Mad Men, and Katey Sagal, nominated for Songs of Anarchy, along with Connie Britton and Anna Torv.

Stage veterans Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock and Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory are both nominated in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category and Edie Falco, Patricia Heaton, and Martha Plimpton have all received nominations in the actress category for their work in Nurse Jackie, The Middle, and Raising Hope, respectively. The Best Actor nominees also include Steve Carell, Louis C.K., Charlie Day, and Joel McHale, and the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category is rounded out by Courtney Cox, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Other nominees for the Critics’ Choice TV Award include stage veterans Ty Burrell, Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Krakowski, Jane Lynch, Margo Martindale, John Slattery, and Sofia Vergara.

In addition to performers, the awards recognize the series. The nominees for Best Drama Series are Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Friday Night Lights, Fringe, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Justified, The Killing, Mad Men and The Walking Dead. The shows nominated in the Best Comedy Series are Archer, The Big Bang Theory, Community , Glee, Louie, The Middle, Modern Family, The Office, Parks and Recreation, and 30 Rock.
