Angela Bassett to Star in Pastoral at Pasadena Playhouse as Part of 2011-2012 Season

Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett will star in the world premiere of Frank Tangredi’s Pastoral as part of the Pasadena Playhouse‘s 2011-12 season. The production is scheduled to begin performances in November.
In the play, Pastor Emily has a dark secret, hidden from even her own son. When a terrible crisis ensues, she must set her pain aside and look within to discover the true capacity of her forgiveness.
The company’s season will also include Craig Carlisle and Richard Addrisi’s musical South Street (beginning in September), Yasmina Reza’s Art (beginning in January), and Ruth and Augustus Goetz’ The Heiress (beginning in April). A fifth production — a musical — will be announced shortly.
