Casting has been announced for Fountain Theatre’s production of Tennessee Williams’ A House Not Meant to Stand, February 19-April 17, with an opening on February 26. Simon Levy will direct this West Coast premiere.

Subtitled “a Gothic comedy,” the play brings us the blazingly dysfunctional McCorkle family in a fiercely funny, bitingly moving, turbo-charged tragicomedy that is at once searing, savage, and hilarious.

The cast will include Sandy Martin as Bella McCorkle, the family matriarch; James Harper as Cornelius, the blusterous father of the family; Daniel Billet as Charlie, the McCorkle’s unemployed youngest son; Virginia Newcomb as Stacey, Charlie’s pregnant, born-again girlfriend; Lisa Richards as neighbor Jessie Sykes; and Robert Craighead as Emerson Sykes. Rounding out the ensemble are Kevin High, Chip Bent and Caroline Treadwell.

The production will feature set design by Jeff McLaughlin, lighting design by Ken Booth, costume design by Naila Aladdin-Sanders, sound design by Peter Bayne, and fight choreography by Doug Lowry.
