Wooster Group Partners With REDCAT to Present La Didone and Other Works

The Wooster Group has partnered with the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) to bring several of the New York City-based troupe’s shows to the Los Angeles area, according to The New York Times.
The first production in this venture will be La Didone, which will run June 11-21. Recently presented at St. Ann’s Warehouse, the piece melds elements of Italian director Mario Bava¹s 1965 sci-fi cult film, Terrore nello spazio with Francesco Cavalli’s Baroque opera.
According to The Times, REDCAT will also present the Wooster Group’s version of Tennessee Williams’ Vieux Carré in February, with additional one to two week residencies planned over the next three to five years.
