Theatre 40 and West Coast Jewish Theatre to Present Murray Schisgal’s Luv

Theatre 40, in a collaboration with West Coast Jewish Theatre, will close its 2010-2011 season with Murray Schisgal’s Luv, May 18-June 26.

Luv is a spoof of avant-garde drama in which suicidal Harry Berlin is prevented from jumping off a bridge by his old college chum Milt Manville. Milt listens sympathetically to Harry’s tales of woe, but Milt himself is frustrated. He has fallen in love with a young woman named Linda, but his neurotic wife Ellen stands in his way. Problems abound when Milt is inspired to bring Harry and Ellen together so he can be free to marry his true love.

Artistic Director of the West Coast Jewish Theatre Howard Teichman will be directing. He spent many years as a member and resident director at Theatre 40 where he directed such works as Lost in Yonkers, Rumors, and Modern Orthodox.
