The Theatre @ Boston Court Announces Three World Premieres as Part of 2013 Season
The Theatre at Boston Court has announced the productions planned for its 2013 10th anniversary season, including three world premieres.
The season will begin with the world premiere of Cassiopeia (opening January 26) by David Wiener, a piece about the chance meeting on an airplane of a math prodigy and a maid from the rural south who find they share a profound connection. Emilie Beck will direct. Next up will be the season's second world premiere, American Misfit (opening April 13) by Dan Dietz. Directed by co-artistic director Michael Michetti, the play tells the post Revolutionary War story of the Harpe brothers, who launched a murderous rampage as a counterrevolution against the new democracy.
The summer of 2013 will kick off with a co-production with Critical Mass Performance Group on the world premiere of Nancy Keystone's Alcestis (opening June 29), a visceral investigation of the literal life-and-death struggle of a woman who volunteers to die to save her husband's life inspired by Euripides. The final offering of the season will be R II, a version of Shakespeare's Richard II (opening September 14) created by co-artistic director Jessica Kubzansky using only three actors.
