Center Theatre Group’s production of The Christians begins this evening at the Mark Taper Forum.

Pastor Paul has spent 20 years growing his church members into the thousands. Now the wildly successful congregation is in for a startling revelation from their pastor. After soul searching, Pastor Paul announces a message that shakes the foundation of his church and challenges one of the basic tenets of his ministry. The ensuing chaos forces him to question his motivations as he leads his flock in a new direction. With his personal and professional relationships deteriorating, he must confront the emotions and consequences of his personal revelation.

Written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, the show features Scott Anthony, Emily Donahoe, Andrew Garman, Philip Kerr, Larry Powell, and Linda Powell.

The creative team includes Dane Laffrey (set design), Connie Furr Soloman (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Jake Rodriguez (sound design), and Scott Anthony (music direction).

Performances will run through January 10.
