Stewart Calhoun, Gloria Garayua, Shannon Holt, et al. Set for Bathsheba Doran’s Ben and the Magic Paintbrush

Casting has been announced for South Coast Repertory‘s Theatre for Young Audiences production of Bathsheba Doran’s Ben and the Magic Paintbrush, to run May 21 – June 6. Stefan Novinski will direct.

The play focuses on a brother and sister who are eking out a living as artists on the streets and whose lives are changed by an evil woman who hopes that the brother can unlock the magic of her father’s paintbrush.

The company will feature Gloria Garayua (Megan), Stewart Calhoun (Ben). Shannon Holt (Cynthia Crawly) Richard Doyle (Harold), Veralyn Jones (Queen of Bohemia), and Bill Brochtrup (Pierre Robelinksy).

The creative team will include Keith Mitchell (scenic design), Tom Ruzika (lighting design), Sara Ryung Clement (costume design), Dennis McCarthy (original music), and Kimberly Egan (sound design).
