Sick Man Would Rather Risk His Health Than Miss the End of No Man's Land With Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen
A patron in his eighties refused to be taken to the hospital until the show concluded.
Thirty minutes remained in the Broadway-bound revival — directed by Sean Mathias and costarring Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley — when the man fell ill. Emergency workers helped the patron into the theater's lobby, but the man refused to leave. Despite being offered tickets to another performance, the patron insisted on watching the rest of the show via a video monitor. He even signed a treatment waiver so that he wouldn't have to miss the conclusion. He eventually agreed to go to a hospital once the curtain came down.
It just goes to show you — even old people are super-excited to see Professor X and Magneto live and in person.
