Seaglass Theatre Announces Cast for 20th Anniversary Production of Of Grapes and Nuts

Seaglass Theatre has announced casting for Of Grapes and Nuts, written by Doug Armstrong, Keith Cooper and Tom Willmorth, to be presented at the Victory Theatre Center’s Little Vic Theatre in Burbank, CA, September 18-October 24. The engagement marks the 20th anniversary of this award-winning comedy. Paul Stroili will direct.

The play, which made its world premiere in 1990 in Chicago, spoofs two John Steinbeck classics: The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men. It begins with how the Lincoln Savings & Loan evicted the Joad clan from their ancestral dirt, and goes on to tell of the Joads making it to California with Lenny in tow, and forming a union and ingeniously repeating clichés until they simply self-destruct.

The cast will feature David Ghilardi, Lauren McCormack, Jen Ray, David Reynolds, Kimberly Van Luin, Ian Vogt and Helen Wilson.

The design team will include David George (set), Scott Legrand (lighting/technical direction), Efrain Schunior (sound), and Jennifer May Nickle (costumes).
