Robin Williams Joins The Butler and The Angriest Man in Brooklyn Films

Stage star and Academy Award winner Robin WIlliams has joined the cast of The Butler, according to Deadline.com.


The film, to be directed by Oscar nominee Lee Daniels, focuses on a White House servant (Forest Whitaker) whose career lasted from the Truman Administration to Ronald Reagan’s. Oprah Winfrey willco-star as Whitaker’s wife.

Williams will play Dwight D. Eisenhower. In addition, Oscar winner and Tony Award nominee Jane Fonda will play Nancy Reagan, Alan Rickman will play Ronald Reagan, Matthew McConaughey will play John F. Kennedy, and John Cusack will play Richard Nixon. The cast will also include Colman Domingo, Cuba Gooding Jr, David Oyelowo, Lenny Kravitz, Jesse Williams, and Alex Pettyfer.


Deadline is also reporting that Williams will join Mila Kunis, Peter Dinklage, Melissa Leo and James Earl Jones in the film The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, which tells the story of a stand-in doctor who mistakenly tells an obnoxious patient he has 90 minutes to live and then tries to track him down.
