Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver Set for Rodrigo Cortes’ Red Lights Film

Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver will star in the psychological thriller Red Lights, according to a report in Variety. Rodrigo Cortes has written the screenplay for the project, which he is also directing.

The movie centers on a psychologist (Weaver), and her assistant whose study of paranormal activity leads them to investigate a world-renowned psychic (De Niro).

De Niro appeared on Broadway in the 1986 play, Cuba & His Teddy Bear, for which he received a Theatre World Award. He has won two Academy Awards, for The Godfather, Part II and Raging Bull, and received nominations for his performances in Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Awakenings, and Cape Fear.

Weaver received a Tony Award nomination for Hurlyburly and her additional stage credits include Crazy Mary, Mrs. Farnsworth, Gemini, and Sex and Longing. She is a three-time Academy Award nominee for Aliens, Gorillas in the Mist, and Working Girl.
