Peter Paige to Direct Independent Film Sex Crime Panic

Stage and screen star Peter Paige will direct the independent drama Sex Crime Panic for Funny Boy Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Adapted from Neil Miller’s book Sex-Crime Panic: A Journey to the Paranoid Heart of the 1950s, the screenplay is written by David A. Lee and Daniel Vaillancourt, and tells the true history of a group of men put into a mental institution for being gay.

Paige is best known for his role of Emmett Honeycutt on Showtime’s Queer as Folk. His stage credits include Musical Theatre West’s production of Little Shop of Horrors this past summer, and L.A. Theatre Works’ War of the Worlds and The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. His film directing credits include Leaving Barstow and Say Uncle.
