Once on This Island Announces 2019-20 North American Tour

The current Broadway revival of Once on This Island has announced that it will launch a North American tour in fall 2019. It will play Los Angeles at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre and additional cities. Those cities, dates, and casting will all be announced later.

Directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Camille A. Brown, Once on This Island features a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. The musical, which debuted on Broadway in 1990, is based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy, and the revival production features new orchestrations by original orchestrator Michael Starobin, joined by AnnMarie Milazzo.

Once on This Island is the tale of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl who falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of the island. When their divided cultures keep them apart, Ti Moune is guided by the powerful island gods, Erzulie, Asaka, Papa Ge, and Agwe, on a remarkable quest to reunite with the man who has captured her heart.
