Naked Boys Singing Star Steve Gideon Dies

Steve Gideon, who starred in the original production of the long-running hit musical Naked Boys Singing, died on May 1 in West Hollywood, California of cancer. He was 52 years old.

Born Steven Craig Hayes, Gideon graduated from Harvard University and The Boston Conservatory of Music, before embarking on a career in musical theater. His other credits included Marry Me a Little, Nite Club Confidential, and All Night Strut, He released a CD Feels Like Home and was working on a new album at the time of his death.

He is survived by his long time companion Bernard Vyzga, his father Luby Hayes, his sister Pam Poole, and his brother Ronald Hayes.
