Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and More Discuss Mary Poppins Returns

Disney’s sequel to the hit 1964 film, directed by Rob Marshall, will be released on December 19.

Disney has released a featurette for Mary Poppins Returns. In it, stars Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Meryl Streep discuss how they became involved with director Rob Marshall's upcoming sequel to the classic 1964 film. Check out the featurette below.

Mary Poppins Returns features a screenplay by David Magee from a story by Magee, Marshall, and John DeLuca. The film stars Blunt as the title character, with Miranda, Streep, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Pixie Davies, Joel Dawson, Nathanael Saleh, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, and Angela Lansbury in supporting roles. Dick Van Dyke, who played Bert in the original film, will also appear.

The story is described as follows: "In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives."
