Mary Poppins Cast Members to Perform at Free Event at The Grove

Gail Bennett, Dominic Roberts, Katie Balen, and Carter Thomas, all of whom are currently appearing in the West Coast premiere of Mary Poppins at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre, will perform songs from the musical in a special free performance at The Grove in Los Angeles on December 4 at 3pm.

Bennett will play Mary Poppins and Roberts will portray Bert, with Balen and Thomas, playing Jane and Michael Banks (respectively). In addition to the performance, the actors will answer questions from Mark Wallengren of KOST(103.5 FM).

Mary Poppins is based on P.L. Travers’ stories and the 1964 Walt Disney film. The musical features the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, a book by Julian Fellowes, and new songs and additional music and lyrics from George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The production has been directed by Richard Eyre, with co-direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne. The creative team includes Bob Crowley (scenic and costume design), and Howard Harrison (lighting design), William David Brohn, and music supervision by David Caddick.
