Mariette Hartley will star in Jerry Sroka’s semi-autobiographical comedy In the Wings, to play the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California, March 28-May 11. The production, to be directed by Don Eitner, will open officially on April 4.

The show concerns a play in a rehearsal plagued by a comically dysfunctional cast, a problematic set, an unhappy stage manger, and the tension between the writer and his producer wife.

In addition to Hartley and Sroka, the cast will include Greg Bryan, Daniel Hagen, Sean Moran, Annette Reid, Will Schaub, and Liz Sroka.

Hartley performed on Broadway in Cabaret. Her numerous other stage credits include her autobiographical solo show If You Get to Bethlehem, You’ve Gone Too Far, The ’60s, Sylvia, Measure for Measure, The Miser, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, and Copenhagen. She has appeared in such films and television series as Ride the High Country, Peyton Place, The Incredible Hunk Married, for which she won an Emmy Award, and Law & Order: SVU.
