Tony winner Mandy Patinkin (Evita) will put his Homeland beard to good use as he voices the role of Papa Smurf in the new computer-animated Smurf reboot film Get Smurfy. The news was announced in conjunction with Global Smurfs Day.

The work will harken back to the original Smurf style, according to Variety. The plot will follow Smurfette and her cohorts as they search for the Smurfs Village in the midst of the Enchanted Forest.

Joining Patinkin, who recently starred at American Repertory Theater in The Last Two People on Earth, will be singer Demi Lovato as Smurfette and The Office favorite Rainn Wilson as evil wizard Gargamel. Kelly Asbury directs a screenplay penned by Something Rotten! coauthor Karey Kirkpatrick and Chris Poche.

Get Smurfy is expected to be released on March 31, 2017.
