Lillias White, Keith David, John Douglas Thompson, and More to Star in Center Theatre Group's Joe Turner's Come and Gone
The Phylicia Rashad-directed production of August Wilson's classic will also feature January LaVoy and Vivian Nixon.
Skye Barrett, Gabriel Brown, Nathaniel James Potvin, Erica Tazel, Glynn Turman, Keith David (Hot Feet), January LaVoy (Home), Vivian Nixon (Hot Feet), Raynor Scheine (Gem of the Ocean), John Douglas Thompson (King Lear), and Lillias White (Fela!) will make up the full cast of Center Theatre Group's upcoming production of August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone, playing April 24-June 9 with an opening on May 8. Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) will direct the production.
Joe Turner's Come and Gone focuses on a boarding house in Pittsburgh in 1911 where newly emancipated slaves find a place to call home as they move north in search of a chance to start over. The establishment is shaken up when a lost man arrives looking for his wife he hasn't seen for years.
The production will feature set design by John Iacovelli, costume design by Karen Perry, lighting design by Allen Lee Hughes, and sound design by Cricket S. Myers. Musical composition for the play is by Kathryn Bostic.
