Lawrence, Shaughnessy, et al. Set for Pasadena’s Orson’s Shadow

Full casting and creative team have been announced for the Pasadena Playhouse production of Austin Pendleton’s Orson’s Shadow, to run January 11-February 17. The production, which will open officially on January 18, will be directed by Damaso Rodriguez.

The play takes place at a West End Theatre in 1960 and imagines a fictional meeting between Orson Welles and Sir Laurence Olivier, set to work together on a production of Rhinoceros. It received a 2005 Lucille Lortel Nomination for Outstanding Play.

The cast will feature Nick Cernoch (Sean), Sharon Lawrence (Vivien Leigh), Scott Lowell (Kenneth Tynan), Bruce McGill (Orson Welles), Charles Shaughnessy (Laurence Olivier), and Libby West (Joan Plowright). The creative team includes Gary Wissman (sets), Mary Vogt (costumes), Dan Jenkins (lighting), and Cricket Meyers (sound).
