John Leguizamo to Workshop Diary of a Madman at La Jolla Playhouse in March

John Leguizamo’s newest one-man show, Diary of a Madman will get a workshop production at the La Jolla Playhouse, March 4-14. The workshop is part of the theater’s Page To Stage series that provides audiences with an early glimpse of works-in-progress.

Madman tells the story of Leguizamo’s adolescent years in Queens, followed by his early days as an actor and his subsequent career in the ’80s avant-garde theater scene and in the movies. The actor-writer’s previous solo shows include Mambo Mouth, Sexaholix, Freak, and Spic-o-rama.
