John Heard and Steve Cell to Star in Odyssey’s A Number

John Heard and Steve Cell will star in Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s production of Caryl Churchill’s A Number, to run April 25-June 21. Bart DeLorenzo will direct.

This meditation upon identity begins with a sci-fi premise in relation to cloning. A Number features set and lighting design by Chris Kuhl and costume design by Candice Cain.

Heard’s Broadway credits include The Glass Menagerie, Total Abandon, Hamlet, and Warp. He received a Theatre World Award and Drama Desk nomination for his performance in G.R. Point, and Obie Awards for his performances in Othello and Split. He received an Emmy nomination for a guest-starring role on The Sopranos, and his many film and television credits include The Trip to Bountiful, Home Alone, Cutters Way, and Tender is the Night, which earned him a Cable ACE Award nomination.

Cell appeared in the 1999 Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman, and other New York credits include Rocket to the Moon, Two Rooms, and Managers. He has previously appeared at the Odyssey in A Small Tragedy and Among the Thugs.
