Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Lily Rabe to Return to FX’s American Horror Story

Stage veterans Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, and Lily Rabe will return as series regulars, along with actor Evan Peters, for the second season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk acclaimed television series American Horror Story, according to Deadline.com.


The FX series will have completely different characters from last season. Murphy has told reporters that the new season will take place in an East Coast mental institution and center on Lange’s new character.


Lange won the SAG and Golden Globe Awards for her performance in the show. She received a Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut in A Streetcar Named Desire and also starred on Broadway in The Glass Menagerie. She is a two-time Oscar winner for Tootsie and Blue Sky.


Paulson has appeared on Broadway in The Glass Menagerie and Collected Stories, and her previous television credits include Cupid, Desperate Housewives, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.


Quinto appeared Off-Broadway in the revival of Angels in America, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination. His film credits include Margin Call and Star Trek, and he starred on the television series Heroes.


Rabe is currently on Broadway on Seminar and received a Tony Award nomination for The Merchant of Venice. She is scheduled to appear this summer in the Shakespeare in the Park production of As You Like It.
