Jessica Chastain, Kathy Griffin, Christopher Plummer, Meryl Streep Receive Dorian Award Nominations

The Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association has announced the nominations for the organization’s Dorian Awards. The winners will be announced on January 16.

Actors nominated in the “Film Performance of the Year” category include stage veterans Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs), Chirstopher Plummer (Beginners), and Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, and Rooney Mara.

Stage veterans Claire Danes (Homeland) and Jessica Lange (American Story) are nominated for “TV Performance of the Year” along with Bryan Cranston, Madeline Stowe, and Kate Winslet.

Jessica Chastain, who will be starring in the Broadway revival of The Heiress in Fall 2012, is nominated in the “We’re Wilde About You Rising Star Award” category, along with Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, Melissa McCarthy, and Elizabeth Olsen.

“Wilde Wit of the Year Award” nominees include Broadway veteran Kathy Griffin, as well as Louis C.K., Rachel Maddow, Kristen Wiig, and the staff writers of Happy Endings.

Film of the Year nominees include Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, as well as The Artist, The Descendants, The Skin I Live In, The Tree of Life, and Weekend.

In addition, Carol Channing: Larger Than Life is nominated in the “Documentary of the Year” category; Mildred Pierce and The Good Wife are nominated for “TV Drama of the Year”; Modern Family and 30 Rock are among the TV Comedy of the Year nominees; and Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On and Glee are nominated as TV Musical Program of the Year.
